The Big Five and Much More

Isn’t fun to travel with friends?  Three families set out together to celebrate high school graduations.  I created the itinerary with some specific things in mind, and thankfully, these folks were glad to tag along.  It began with a LONG journey.  Know knew what lay in store but we sure were rewarded for the effort.  After two international flights, three local “puddle jumpers” and an hour boat ride, we finally arrived at our destination on the shore of Lake .  The next morning we hiked high into the mountains to spend precious time with a troop of semi-habituated chimpanzees.  In the afternoon, we took the boat out to the middle of the beautiful lake with crystal clear water where we swam and did some fishing on the way back.  That evening, the wonderful lodge staff used our freshly caught fish to make ceviche for an appetizer as we watched the sun set.  At dinner, one of our teenage boys made a toast proclaiming it had been the best day of his life!  That was all the thanks I ever need for doing a job I love.  The rest of the trip was pretty magical as well, we have stories and memories to last forever.
